It’s not in the cards
I had a crush on this guy among my friends and we had become really good friends. Valentine Day
is impending and both of us had not made any plans for that day. Therefore, I was so exhilarated when he comes to my place holding a cute, homemade Valentine card. He even goes to the extent of pasting macaroni noodles onto it, much akin to what children do in grade school. He showed the card to me, and I was about to express my gratitude to him and hug him when he popped up the question,” You think Kate will like this”? Kate was in fact one of our friends which he liked. I manage to keep my posture until he left, and that ought to be one of my most terrible Valentine’s Day ever.

Short-changing a relationship
I was invited to a dinner by my date on Valentine’s Day. When it’s time to pay for the meal, he took out three rolls of quarters as well as a roll of dimes from his pocket. Subsequently, he then breaks them all open and counts them on the table. The waiter was just as astonished as I was when he returned to our table. In fact, the waiter had to engage a busboy to assist him in carrying the change to the cash counter. I asked him his reason for doing this and he say that he wanted to get rid of them. Now, that made me feels real unique.

No reading between the lines necessary
A couple of years back, I have been dating this guy casually for some months when I feel that I am prepared for a more committed relationship. Valentine’s Day was impending and I feel that the moment has arrived. I put in some time and effort in getting a great gift for him – one of his most preferred musician photos in black and white which is hard to come by. In return, he got me a present as well as a card too. I opened the card and saw the message “Happy Valentine’s Day, can we just remain as friends”? I threw the gift back at him and left angrily, not even seeing what the present was.

My bloody Valentine
After dating a girl for a couple of weeks, I decided to take her out for a date on Valentine’s Day. The date was fantastic and when we returned home, we being to kiss on her porch. Out of a sudden, she pulled away as she felt that there was something on her face. After opening my eyes, I was astonished to see blood trickling down her cheeks. I was constantly bothered with bloody noses, and I actually start bleeding when we were in the midst of kissing. Although she told me that it was fine, she never contacted me ever since, and I guess I am not in the position to blame her anyway.

Maybe it’s better to call first
I had been flirting with this long-distance girl for quite some time and I decided to give her a big surprise on Valentine’s Day by going to her place. After asking some simple questions, I learnt about her schedule and I knew when she will be home. Therefore, I intended to turn up early at her doorsteps prior to her leaving her house. I prepared a bouquet of flowers and even planned to reserve a table for a romantic dinner at an exquisite restaurant that fateful night. I headed to her apartment building, took the lift to her floor, and the door opened just when I was about to knocked on it. And there she was… deeply kissing another guy. When she saw me, she exclaimed.’Omigod!”, and I did not hear what she said after that, since I ran away after that.
