“When you are in love, you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams”, said Dr. Seuss, the famous children’s author. How true! Love makes life wonderful. Hence, a short love story is what is needed here. After all, how much ever said about love is less. Nothing can justify it. Here are two short love stories.

Wherever love is mentioned, it can’t be complete without Romeo and Juliet. They have become synonymous with love itself. They are the eternal symbols of love. Romeo and Juliet were childhood lovers. They wanted to get married after they grew up. However, fate had other plans for them. Their families had feud for generations and it was expected from their children to carry on this legacy.

Carrying on they did, but their way. Juliet’s parents had already set her marriage with another person, Paris. However, both Romeo and Juliet were adamant to be married to each other. Thus, they got married secretly with the help of Friar Lawrence, a common friend. Thereafter, when her parents came to take her away, she was forced to drink a potion which made her unconscious. Then, Romeo enters and kills Paris. By then, he gets word that Juliet is dead. In fact, the truth was that she was only unconscious. He saw her lying in a corner and hence, deep in grief he takes poison and dies beside her.

After a while, when Juliet regains her senses, she sees Romeo dead by her. Realizing everything, she becomes devastated and takes a sword. She pierces herself with it and was united finally with her lover. Thus, this proves that “What love can make you achieve, cannot be achieved through anything else”. Nothing can come between two lovers.

Another Short Love Story

Another eternal story that comes to mind is that of Laila and Majnu. In fact, they are known only as ‘lailamajnu’. They were childhood friends. Majnu was mesmerized by Laila’s beauty. After they grew up, her family, fully aware of this relationship, tried everything to stop it from proceeding ahead. Even her brother Tabrez warned Majnu from coming near her. Majnu killed him in revolt.

She was then forcefully wed to another rich man. However, after learning about Majnu, he challenged him in the battle of death. Having already lost his strength after separating from Laila, he lost the battle and was killed. Laila, after learning this killed herself by Majnu’s grave, thereby putting an end to her tribulations. Thus, they were finally united in heaven.

Therefore, it can be said “Love is eternal.” A Short love story of this kind is testimony to this.
